YORKVILLE – Tairi’s son, Aidan (13), has had an IEP since first grade and has struggled with sensory issues, ADHD, social anxiety and learning disabilities. Gavin (11) & Kaleigh (7) are gifted and test out of grades on all standardized testing. Her youngest Kaia (7) is just beginning her journey. All four of Tairi’s children were born with the innate ability and desire to learn, they just needed to develop in their own way; so, Tairi, a practicing Licensed Clinical Social Worker and owner of Sense of Samadhi Yoga Studio, opened Grace Holistic Center for Education in Yorkville, serving Pre-K through Grade 12.
As the only school in Illinois to offer meditation, yoga, organic food, parent involvement/workshops, Spanish Immersion/Global Multi-Culturalism, experiential learning, proactive wellness, gardening, aquaponics, and pet therapy amongst typical college prep classes, Tairi has applied to be recognized by ISBE for therapeutic day school.
“I believe children learn best experientially and that an impactful educational system should integrate wellness on an emotional, physical, mental and spiritual level,” Tairi shares. The center will partner with Operation Drive for bussing services; as well as, Ginger and Soul for organic lunches; Fox River Art Academy for music and art programing; Laura Langston Pediatrics for in-house Speech, Language, and OT services; and finally Fur Angels to provide pet therapy and onsite adoptive placement. – Kristen Kucharski
