Grace Holistic Center for Education is committed to providing a quality education for every student. The school firmly believes that consistent attendance teaches students responsibility. Students learn the value of being punctual and prepared. Frequent absences result in a loss of continuity of instruction. Also, frequent absences and tardiness prove disruptive for students, teachers, and staff. Excessive unexcused absences may lead to a students permanent dismissal from the school.
Parents are expected to take an active role in assuring that their children are attending school. We recommend that families plan their vacations around the active school calendar.
When to Keep Your Child Home from School
A parent is often faced with the decision of when to keep their child home because of illness. Below are the general guidelines for appropriate reasons for a student absence.
– Temperature over 100 degrees F within the last 24 hours
– Vomiting/diarrhea within the last 24 hours
– Severe headache, stomachache, earache, sore throat, chills
– Excessive coughing
– Rash of unknown origin
Children should remain at home until they have no episodes of vomiting/diarrhea and have been fever free (without the use of fever-reducing medication) for 24 hours.
If your child is ill:
Please call the school at 331-207-8932 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to report illnesses.
Regular school hours are 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
No child should enter the school until 8:30 a.m. They must either wait in line by the front door or in a parent vehicle.
Students that are not participating in the before and after care program must arrive and leave promptly unless authorized prearrangements have been made.
